Ebony
Ebony is a 14.1hh black cob mare who joined us in February 2025. She is a younger girl born in 2018 and so will take time to get used to our ways. She is very friendly and loves standing in her field watching what is happening in the school.
Ebony has progressed into a very sweet and lovely pony over the time that we have had her. We are super excited for 2027 and possibly taking her to regionals with a few riders.
Joe
Joe is a 13.1hh piebald cob gelding. He was born in 2008 and joined us in March 2014. Originally a traveller’s pony, it took Joe a little while to settle into the slower pace of life at Wyfold, but he has turned into one of the best RDA ponies we have had. He loves looking after our smaller riders and giving them a kiss when they have finished riding.
Joe’s other favourite things are sleeping flat out in the sunshine and being cheeky when he goes out for his able-bodied hacks! He looks cute but likes to keep us on our toes; however, we love him for it!
Banjo
Banjo is a 12.3hh pony who was born in 2013 and is on loan to Wyfold. He has done RDA before and has plenty of experience with children.
He is super sweet and loves lots of cuddles and attention but can also be a bit cheeky when the mood takes him.
Elsie
Elsie is a 14.2hh, cob mare who joined us in late July 2025. Born in 2018, she is one of our younger ponies.
Elsie has not had the easiest of journeys through her RDA career this last year; however, we have now sorted her physical issues and we are starting to see her wonderfully sweet personality shine through. She loves cuddles over the stable door with anyone who walks past. She has the patience of a saint, especially with our more physically disabled riders who need a bit more time to mount
Dollar
Dollar is the newest member of the team, who joined us in July 2026. She is only 6 years old so we are taking our time to introduce her to RDA work.
Dollar has the sweetest personality and seems to be taking all of her training in her stride. She is best friends with Elsie and is often found sharing the haynet with her in the field. We are looking forward to seeing Dollar progress through her training and start RDA work in January 2027.
Archie
Archie is a 14hh Welsh, section C, bay gelding who was born in 2007. He joined us in February 2025 as our new driving pony.
Archie had done some competitive work and enjoyed his RDA work in his previous home. Since joining Wyfold, he has been the most wonderful driving pony for us after a tricky few years without one. He is very good at turning his hoof to all sorts of drivers, but he particularly likes it in the summer when the cones are in the field, and he can trot as fast as he’s allowed through the course!
Poppy
Poppy is a 14.2hh black cob mare born in 2015. She arrived in February 2024 and settled in beautifully. She did fabulously well at regionals in May 2024 with her riders qualifying for the National Championships. Unfortunately, it was discovered she had broken a bone in her foot a month later and, after lots of rest, she is slowly returning to work. She will eat anything in sight!
