Our Ponies

Big Joe

Big Joe is a 13hh piebald Irish cob pony (so not really big at all!).  He is extremely hairy!  He joined us in March 2014 when he was only 6 years old so he has a lot to learn but seems to really like people.  "Big Joe" is a character in a book called "Private Peaceful" by Michael Morpurgo.  He has made a good start on his RDA work and we hope he will stay with us for a long time.

Big Bob

We bought Big Bob in February 2016. He is a 15.2hh skewbald and is 12 years old. He has a handsome face and very kind eyes. As you can see from the photos he used to live by the sea. Hi is very popular with our riders.

Sweet Pea is a pretty Welsh Section B chestnut mare. She was born in 2005 and is 13.1hh. She has come from Collingwood Riding School which has closed down. She is very friendly and likes cuddles. She has unusual and distinctive markings on her blaze which are called freckles. She was bought for us by the Phyllis Court Charity Action Group who gave us 1,300 towards her purchase and all her tack.

Pluto is a good looking piebald cob. He is 14hh, was born in 2005 and comes to us from Enbourne Equestrian Centre. He is a handsome chap and has a very similar blaze to Lucky except that he has a white neck where Lucky has a black one.

'Darcy arrived at Wyfold at the beginning of 2022. She is a 9 year old 14.3hh heavyweight cob mare and was bought particularly to be a weight carrier. She is black with 3 white socks and a white blaze. She has a good temperament and likes people and to be fussed over. She is good to groom, clip and shoe and has good manners in and out of the stable. She is a pleasure to have around and easy to do. She has settled in well at Wyfold and moves well and easily. We hope that she stays with us for a long time and becomes a valuable member of our team

Summer is a New Forest bay mare with a lovely white blaze. She is 16 years old and 13.2hh and came on loan to us in March 2023. She has done lots of pony club activities and is used to new riders. We hope that she settles down to life at Wyfold and enjoys being a member of the team.
